All-island Obesity Forum

The next All-island Obesity Forum workshop is fast approaching. This time the workshop aims to highlight the important role healthcare professionals play in the fight against overweight and obesity. The focus will be on healthcare professionals’ awareness and comfort in raising the issue with patients, their role in normalising discussion and management, and in reducing the stigma associated with overweight and obesity. We will be sharing new research findings based on healthcare professional’s attitudes to overweight and obesity which has been conducted across the island of Ireland while also providing some practical advice.
 
The event is supported by both safefood and the Irish Medical Organisation and keynote speakers include Dr Paul Chadwick (MEND) and Dr Donal O’Shea from St Colmcille’s hospital in Loughlinstown. The event will be of particular interest to health professionals working in primary care and the community across the island of Ireland.
