The Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (RCPI) is pleased to invite you to our latest public meeting ‘Ageing Well – Ageing Positively’ which will take place on Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at 6:30 p.m., in RCPI, No.6 Kildare Street, Dublin 2.


This meeting forms part of the RCPI Public Meeting Series ‘Promoting a Healthy Nation’, aimed at informing members of the public on key healthcare issues and to provide an opportunity for the  public to communicate their concerns to the College. 

This meeting aims to address important aspects of ageing in Ireland, how we can protect vulnerable older people and how we can age well and positively.

Broadcaster Derek Davis will chair the meeting and the speakers will include Dr Diarmuid O’Shea, Consultant in Geriatric Medicine, St Vincent’s University Hospital, Dublin and Vice President for Education and Professional Development, RCPI, Prof Brian Lawlor, Professor of Old Age, Trinity College Dublin and Consultant Psychiatrist at St James’s Hospital, Dublin, Robin Webster, Chief Executive of Age Action Ireland, and Michael O’Mhuircheartaigh, Sports Broadcaster.

This meeting is open to all members of the public.  If you cannot attend in person, we will be pleased to welcome your alternate, or your colleagues who have an interest in this topic. Registration is free but as places are limited we ask you to RSVP to Ms. Deirdre Donegan by emailing college@rcpi.ie or telephone (01) 863 9700.
