Report of Intersectoral Group Launched

Report of Inter-sectoral Group on the Implementation of the Recommendations of the National Task Force on Obesity.

In May 2005 the Report of the National Taskforce on Obesity (NTFO) – ‘Obesity the Policy Challenges’ was published. The report aimed to provide the policy framework for addressing the high prevalence and rising levels of overweight and obesity, in particular childhood obesity, in
Ireland. It recognised that the development of overweight and obesity can be attributed to many factors. The involvement of this wide range of factors made it essential that a multi-sectoral approach was taken to deal with the issue.
