INDI Structure

As part of the INDI's new five year strategy, the INDI has recently restructured to provide a solid platform to further build on the changes the organisation has gone through in the past two years.  The new INDI organisational structure sees a new board in situ with a CEO reporting to the Board. The CEO leads our volunteer Senior Management Team in the day to day management of the INDI.

The new INDI structure consists of:

1. INDI Board of Directors
2. INDI Senior Management Team, comprising:
    i. CEO
ii. The Executive: Hon. Secretary, Assistant Hon.  Secretary, Hon. Treasurer, Assistant Hon. Treasurer, Membership Secretary.
iii. Chairs of three Steering Groups - Education, Dietitians in Management and Scientific & Research
3. INDI Communications & Sponsorship Manager
4. INDI CPD Officer
5. INDI Office Secretary/ Administration
6. INDI Special Interest Groups
7. INDI General Membership

INDI Board Members 2016-2017

Chairperson Dr Declan Byrne sits on the Joint TCD/ DIT Consultative Committee overseeing the undergraduate degree course. He also sits on the management committee of IRSPEN and was involved in the development of Nutrition and Hydration Guidelines for HIQA.

Richelle Flanagan continued to sit on the Healthy Ireland council representing the INDI. She has helped to advise on and select the new communications manager, attended numerous conferences and has represented the INDI in the media.

Padraig McKeon has advised on communications strategy and was very involved in the selection process for the communications manager, giving up three days of his time. Working with Helen Short and the CEO he has given considerable input into the development and implementation of the appropriate governance processes that we need within the organisation.

Siobhan Julian comments to the media, and has acted as a mentor on the membership project supporting the leadership students as they assess the implications and benefits of offering access to INDI resources to appropriately qualified nutritionists. Siobhan also completed the Abbott/ INDI leadership course last year.

Brian O Neill. As the INDI restructures its financial processes Brian has been instrumental  in guiding the CEO and has acted as a sounding board and a source of practical advice outside of the board meetings  throughout the year.

Helen Shortt. With Padraig, and the CEO she has been instrumental in identifying areas where we need to translate the new strategic direction of the INDI so it has meaning for members and can lead to one message being delivered in unison.

All of the board members of the INDI are volunteers, they do not receive any form of remuneration or incentive to sit on the board of INDI. They give of their time freely and outside of their day jobs.
